THE PARIS RESIDENCES OF JAMES JOYCE (2020) by Martina Nicolls, published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing in the UK, is a comprehensive and extensive photographic and historical account of the apartments and hotels Irish author James Joyce lived in during his 19 years in Paris from 1920 to 1939. More about the book here.
In this website, I include a brief introduction to Joyce’s residences, and an introduction to the streets of Paris where Joyce lived, dined, worked, and walked.
I hold Australian and British citizenships, and I currently live in Tbilisi, Georgia and Paris, France.
“On reflection he was amazed at his transformation since coming to Paris ….”
Gordon Bowker, on James Joyce telling John Rodker about Paris 1921
