The sales (Les Soldes) range from 30% to 70% reductions in the price of many goods, from department stores and malls to individual shops, elite to general brands, international and French brands, and traditional to new brands.

Some French brands include Ba&sh, Cacharel, Caroll, Caudalie, Chocolat Bonnat, Clarins, Claudie Pierlot, Comptoir des Cotonniers, Emanuel Ungaro, Gibert Joseph, Guerlain, Lalique, La Maison du Chocolat, Lancôme, L’Occitane, L’Oreal, Maje, Mariage Frères, Moulinex, Musier Paris, Polène, Rouje, Sandro, Sézane, Soeur, Van Cleef & Arpels, Yves Rocher, and Zadig & Voltaire.

The sales are all across Paris, and the popular shopping areas are in the 1st, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th arrondissements.

For non-EU citizens looking for further savings in Paris, buy several items from one store to gain a VAT tax refund of about 12% to 20% discount.

If you miss the January sale, the next big sale is the June-July Summer Sale.
